hey sorry it took me so long to get back to this

so here is the latest news on my progression as a writer. as of this moment in time i am working on a book (that i still have yet to name)about of all things a Nereid. what is a Nereid, you may ask. Good Question! A Nereid is one of the 50 daughters of the Greek God Nereus and his wife Dora (Dora was an ocean nymph and the daughter of the Titan Ocean)the are the nymphs of the sea. Some of them such as AMPHITRITE have stories behind them (Amphitrite was the wife of Poseidon and the queen of the sea).

but i noticed over time that not all of the Nereid's had stories (in fact a vast majority of them don't) despite the fact that the Greek playwrights and stories have given each one of them a name. I decided that I thought that there needed to be more to them than just what those old writers had to say about them. That aside if the gods do exist than so much more has happened in their history than we have recorded. therefore, it is time for a new story, this time based around KALLIANASSA and her name means the lovely queen ... But wait? the lovely queen? Well what is she queen of?

I have decided that poseidon was not the king of all seas, that would be far to vast a kingdom for one man (even if he is a greek god to run) so he shares the kingdoms. Enter Kallianassa, she was born in her underwater kingdom, but carried away on strong waves created by dark forces. she ends up washing up on shore and is adopted and raised on land. the summer of her senior year of high school she is on the Olympic cruse liner when all the sudden the ship begins to sink and she can't get out of her room. She is still on board the ship as it sinks down to the bottom of the sea. It is there that she meets Proteus who is according to most mythology Poseidon's attendant and according to others is his son. I have opted for both.

Convient thing about proteus I have manipulated his age so he is Kallianassa's age, but the really nice thing about him is that I have provided for me by mythology a perfect reason for him to be there to help her. he had two particular powers as a god. One is the ability to pridict the future and the other is the ability to change shapes.

anyways this is the basis of my new story hope you like the idea.

OMG sorry I know I took a long time

Sorry about that. Just thought that you might want to know that my book is still progressing quite smoothly. Rose is in the Teristalian Palace now, and she and Alex are in that weird more than friends less than dating stage. It's Kinda hard for me though writing it cus' I know where they end up.

I am also starting up on my poetry again, and writing another series I call "Spell Bound" that follows a bit of a more realistic (well except for the whole magic thing) pattern. I just thought that the wonderful people of blogspot might have liked to have found out about that. :D

YesI know it's been a while

Please don't think that I forgot about you loyal fans. Happy New Year!
Check out the poll to the right and take that before reading this.

2 choices relate very strongly to my book and it's two main characters (Rose and Alex)

The one choice in which people would gladly give up their family and kingdom for true love is exacly what Alex does when war with Roses' kingdom (of which she is Empress) breaks out. He abandons his pride, family, and kingdom to be with Rose (Self: awwww).

The "heartless" option that I have on there about family and country being more important is Roses' perspective...you see from the time that Rose was little her family has been the center of her life and as I have said before when she finds out that Alexs' father killed hers it's simply not something that she herself can take. But for those of you who don't think that she really loves him you should see what the break does to her. It really broke my heart to do something like that to both her and Alex. (me: cry)

So this break thing

Ok ... So the break. Well this is kind of hard to explain without the whole flashback section that Talia (Rose's mother) gives, but I will try. *sigh*

So I bet those of you who have voted in the poll thought that the 3rd option of just giving up your true love is absolutely heartless ... well that's basically what Rose decided that she had to do.

I guess looking at it the whole break started years before Rose and Alex were even born:

Rose's mother (Talia) was crown princess of Serinious (the kingdom of the elves), her parents had wanted her to marry the prince of Teristalia (Alex's kingdom)(Alex's' father). Rose's father had been Alex's' fathers best friend as well as his personal guard so he and Talia saw a lot of each other.

Now Rose's father had fallen in love with Talia basically at first sight, and to be completely honest so did she, Talia actually really disliked Alex's' father; the only reason that she stayed was because the princes guard interested her.

Well one dark and stormy night Rose's father pretty much abducted Talia and ran away to a small town on the boarder of Teristalia (the town that Rose and family lived in). He was actually rather shocked when he found out that Talia was just fine with being abducted and more than happy to be around him.

They were soon married (in secret of course because not only was Alex's' father (who was king by this point) looking for them but many elves were upset that their princess was missing and wanted her back safely in the kingdom)

Now here is the problem the King (Alex's' father) did not wait to find out the whole story when he finally tracked them down. He basically sent a letter of challenge telling Rose's father that he would be coming in three days to kill him and set Talia free.

Rose's father, not wanting to put Talia and his daughters in danger told them to go out for a picnic the day that the king was coming, and they did (Talia did not foresee the danger).

When Alex's' father came Rose's father was in the apple orchard waiting patiently, he died happily knowing that he protected his wife and daughters.

When Talia and the girls returned Lina and Katrina went to get their father and found him dead the sword still piercing his heart. They went right to their mother who removed the sward and read the inscription on the blade: a note from the King telling her that she was now free.
*side note: This is when Lina and Katrina found out that they were both royalty

Now back to Rose and Alex's time period:
Rose is finally informed of how her father died. She become furious, her family had always been the most important thing in her life and her fathers death was still one of the most tragic things that had ever happened to her (it was a blow from which she still had not recovered).

Now Rose had assumed that Alex had known nothing and was not going to hold the actions of his father against him until she was talking to him about her father. (important to note: When Alex's' father realized who Rose was (a.k.a Princess of Serinious) he had told her what he had believed to be the truth: that Talia had been raped a multitude of times, which is how her daughters had been conceived) Alex had told Rose during that her father had deserved to be killed thinking that his father had told him everything about Talia's' disappearance.

Rose became so angry that she stormed off back to Serinious and basically declared war on Teristalia.

OMG!! It's time to talk about Alex!!!

Prince Alexander ... what can I say? He is in all essence my prince charming: Sweet, caring, loves me (... well Rose) immensely, wonderful manners, musically inclined, loves art, and treats people kindly and with respect.

If I had to pick a song to describe him about 1 week ago truth be told I don't think that I could do it. Why? Well I had not heard "Because You Live" by Jesse McCartney yet (I know it's Jesse McCartney but just listen to the song it's beautiful). "Because You Live" perfectly describes Alex; it shows his devotion it also leads into the pain of the separation that he feels when Rose creates the break in the relationship (Which I promise that I will explain soon (I swear)).

A quick Q.&A. On Prince Alexander

Q: Why is Alex such a hopeless romantic?
A: Alex's father had always told him that when he found a woman he truly wanted to be with to do everything in his power to hold onto (He lost his 'true love' and did not want the same thing to happen to Alex) so Alex does everything in his power to be Rose's dream man because he does not want to lose her.

Q. Where do you find your inspiration for Alex?
A. Well ... sadly I can not say that my boyfriend is my inspiration for Alex. Why? Well that's because I don't have one. :) But anyways Alex come from everything I look for in a guy, he is the type of guy I dream of every night. Whenever I wright a scene with him in it I start to fall more and more in love with his character; he's just so sweet of a (fictional) guy.

Q. Obviously this whole break thing breaks Alex's heart right? So then why would you intentionally break his heart if even you personally love him?
A. That's really hard to answer. The thing is it hurt Rose to create the break too. I think as an author I had to hurt the two of them (whether or not I wanted to) because there is no way that certain circumstances could have been tolerated between them without the break. I also think that the break really causes the reader to sympathize with both Rose and Alex. For example after the break there is this scene (one of the few) that is written from Alex's point of view and it is so sad (It almost broke my heart to write) and my best friend Yuki (Kara) read it and actually started to cry because she basically wanted to go into the book and hug him (she was dying to comfort him). The hard thing to explain is that the break was needed to make the reader realize just how powerful both of their feelings are and just what both of them are willing to give up.

Q: What does Alex look like?
A: (Looks up amazed that she had not said that in the description of him at the top) OH MY GOD! I AM SO SORRY!! (oops) Alex is tall and obviously strong (well built and toned muscles (melts as she pictures them)), he has jet black hair, and amazing ocean blue eyes, as well as the smile of a god and the face of an angel ... in other words he is absolutely perfect!

hope you guys liked the chance to get to know my leading male a little better :)

Any unanswered questions? Post a comment and I will be sure to answer it.

I found a song thats absolutely perfect!!

So there is a point in either the 2nd or 3rd book in which Rose and Alex have to separate and the other day when I was on youtube I was listening to "Never Had a Dream Come true" and I could almost see the video for it in my head. The song also works really well for Rose's mother and father in the flashback her mother has to how his death occurred and the time before his death. The way I see them in my head right now the video's are absolutely beautiful and are easily enough to make a person cry. They are sad and yet at the same time hit all the most important and beautiful parts of the two couples relationships.

As an author I felt that a separation between Rose and Alex was necessary, but ... my readers tell me that for them it almost rips their hearts out to see the two of them not together. Well personally I feel that as a writer it's my job to show just how heart breaking true love can be. I mean look at Romeo and Juliet. They were deeply in love and look where they ended up. I mean as far as punishment for true love goes I'm much nicer about it than Shakespere was ... then again that's not saying much is it?

Oh! BTW ...IT'S CHRISTMAS EVE!!!!!!!!!!!
